Honestly, Im not sure what Robert thought about being invited to the dinner because the essay didnt really show or told us any of it. But maybe I can say he might have feel awkward because he’s having a dinner with a totally different culture with his family and might have been embarrassing because he doesn’t know what his family would do. I have participated in a culture or tradition that might have been different from mines. A party or what they call it “Quinceanera” a mexican cultural party that they do when you turn 15, it’s almost like a filipino culture but we have it when we turn 18, anyways i learned how to dance to some of their songs they normally and it was fun just learning new moves and how they have fun.
