EAP Reflection

Without revealing the contents of any of the prompts, what do you think of the EAP writing exam experience? What did you think of the level of difficulty? What about the timed aspect of the test? Did you respond well to it or do you wish you had approached it differently? Did you remember something after taking the exam that you wish you had remembered while taking it? Take your time and try to be thoughtful with your response.

After taking the EAP exam, I felt that I didn’t have enough time to write what I wanted to say. Yet I saw it as a simple and easy exam.I felt that what I wrote wasn’t the best enough, but it came out ok in my opinion.Hopefully I pass the exam with a standard level or above grade because I for sure don’t want to retake it. Overall I think I did my best and possibly have passed it.

I think the EAP was quite easy, except that I did not have enough time to finish. I think my essay was pretty good though. My argument was not complicated and it had to do with something that I actually have thought of before and previously token a stance for. I approached the essay as if it were a debate, like the ones I used to practice doing in my 10th grade English Puente Class. I think I would have approached the essay or prompt a bit more differently and fully organize my ideas, because at first I struggled with what I was going to write. Later throughout the day, I thought of other alternate things I could have said.

I thought that the EAP essay was pretty easy. The topic that i got was easy for me to pick a side and argue. The time that we had to write the essay was a good amount of time. I still had abit of time left when i was done writting and i was even able to re-read it like 3 times. Overall i thought that the essay was very easy.

I feel like the EAP writing exam was pretty easy. Between other prompts I have been given by other teachers and the practice EAP essay, I felt really prepared for it. Time wise was okay, I felt as if I had just enough time, if not a little comfort time to create a five paragraph essay amd check over my writing. My overall feelings before the essay was that I just wanted to get it over with. I felt like it wasn’t necessary to take it if we already have to “prove” ourselves during the AP exam. In a way it was a waste of a day when we should have been focusing more on multiple choice for the AP. And personally, I don’t plan to even apply to any CSU’s.

In my opinion, the EAP writing exam was actually very easy. All someone really had to do was agree or disagree and have a logical explanation for it. I believe that i responded to the prompt clearly and with enough evidence to prove my point. The timed aspect of the exam wasn’t anything to worry about. I had enough time to finish and proofread my essay.

In my opinion, the EAP written exam was perhaps one of the easiest exams I’ve taken, but that might be largely due to how prepared I was beforehand. The amount of time allotted was more than enough to finish and proofread the topics given. The topics were extremely open to opinion and because of so, I feel confident in my argument.

I thought the EAP exam was straight forward and the difficulty of it was somewhat challenging. The time to do the EAP exam was just right to write an essay, but I think that I could have done extremely better if I had more time. I think that I responded well to the EAP, but i think I could have approached the exam with better wording that would have brought my points across and better information. After the exam, I thought about how I could have brought up more examples that would have strengthen my point of view.

The EAP writing exam was less difficult than I thought it would actually be. I expect the EAP writing exam to confuse me to a point where I wouldn’t know what to do next. However( this exam made me think about my point of view in situations. The timed aspect of the writing exam applied pressure on me, but the time was perfect. I feel 5 minutes more would’ve been even better, but as I continue to write arguments, I feel I will become more swift. In those 45 minutes I was accurate with style and addressed all the aspects of an “argumentative essay”. After the test I thought about how I could’ve used words that were more appropriate for an AP English student to use, but my point was made.

The EAP writing exam was a challenge for me due to the prompt I receive. It was not impossible but it did bring upon writer’s block for me a few times. The timed aspect of this test put an added weight onto my shoulders but it was not overall distracting from completing my task. In the time I had, I feel as if I should have processed what the prompt was asking me more. If I would have did this, I would have had a better response. After I walked out of class, a few hard facts that were on the tip of my tongue came right to my mind, which left a regretful feeling.

Taking the EAP was not hard but was not easy. The prompt that I had was sort of challeging with the way it was put together. It took a while to understand whats being said and when I understood then I attacked. With the time I had I thought faster and created my essay more faster. If I had more time I would have definatley took my time and done better. I think I should keep righting essays to get more used to writing. Hopfully I done great writing the arguement. I wish I had more time so I could more ideas and thoughts into it.

I was stressing about the EAP exam, but when I recieved the prompt, I thought it was fairly easy. As soon as I read my prompt I immediately thought of things to write, evidence to back up my argument. I had writer’s block for a couple of minutes half-way thought my essay, but I don’t think it made a difference overall. I was careful to answer the prompt to the best of my ability, I am just a little worried that I interpreted it wrong. The time wasn’t an issue to me, it was a little stressfull in the beginning but at the end I had three minutes to go back and proofread. I did not think of anything I could have added to my essay after I was done, I hope the evidence I gave was suficient enough.

At first, I was a bit scared of the EAP exam but as soon as I looked at it, it looked quite simple and easy to do. The biggest concern I had was the forty-five minute time limit to respond to the prompt with an argument. I dislike having to be timed, while I am trying to do the best in my writing. I get an awful feeling when there is one or two more paragraphs to go but there is only like five minutes left. Working under pressure definitely sucks. The test makers should perhaps write an argument about if there should be time limits in tests and why or why not. I would certainly like to argue about that.

My experience with the EAP writing exam was overall fine. The level of difficulty of the prompt was medium for me. I did not know some of the terms in the prompt, so I had difficulty using context clues to figure the terms out. I actually enjoyed the timed aspect; I did not even need the whole forty-five minutes. But when I finished before everyone else, I started second guessing myself because I was one of the first people to finish! Although I finished quickly, I do believe that I responded well to the prompt. After taking the exam, I realized I forgot to add a detail and I started thinking about some more evidence that I could have added. I have realized that all the timed writes we have written in class and for homework helped me with time management on this exam!

I believed that the EAP exam was actually easier than I expected, while the timing aspect felt longer than when I do timed writes in class to me, because I was able to finish my essay and proofread it with a little bit of time remaining. After taking the test, I had no regrets about what I put in my essay since I had an okay amount of time to proofread and correct any mistakes I made.

The EAP writing exam was fairly simple and easy, but it also had its negative side. Although the prompt that was given was not so hard to understand, the fact that we were timed caused all of my thoughts to bundle up. I understood the prompt but it was hard to put all of my ideas together and write as fast as possible. I feel that if I had more time, I would of done a better job, rathe then just writing and being a little confused about it. Although it was a bit complicated for me, I still have confidence on how I did and the score I will receive. This will definitely prepare me for my AP exit exam and SAT’s, so I feel very appreciative of getting the opportunity to take this timed argument exam.

Taking the EAP exam today was at first a little stressing. Once I started writing I realized it was not as hard. The fact that we only had a cirtain amount of time to write the whole essay did make me nervouse. Overall I think the EAP exam went pretty well for me. Even though I know I could have done better I am satisfied with what I wrote. Better ideas of what to put in my essay did come to me after I finished. Unfortunately there was no time to go back and include them.

I think the EAP writing exam had very interesting topics because they were topics that people had in real life so it was easy for us to back up our argument with real life examples. I think the level of difficulty was in the middle. I think the exam being timed was good because it would prepared us for a lot of timed writes. I feel like i responded well to it due to the fact that my prompt was fairly easy. After the exam there was nothing I remembered that could’ve helped me during the exam.

Personally I thought the EAP was easy and straight foward. The timed aspect of the test did add some pressure on me because I had to set a pace for myself in which I’m not very familiar with. I believe I responded well to the prompt but I do wish I approached it somewhat differently. I wish I would have given myself a little more time to proofread my essay and to add at least on more quote. Overall I still believe that my essay was decent and I’m glad we had a chance to practice before the exam.

I thought that the EAP exam was actually pretty easy, I was surprised. I didn’t really have a problem writing an argument about my prompt. Its was nothing like i expected. The only thing that did seem challenging was the fact it was timed. I feel like I would have been good with just like ten more minutes. I am confident about this argument , i feel pretty well about it. I’m rally confident that I did well, or at least I will get the average score, but nothing under that.

As I was taking the EAP test I suddenly realized that I stressed for nothing. This test was easier than I thought because I realize that this prompt was nothing different than the things we had been learning during class, all I had to do was apply what I needed to put in every part of the paragraph. I thought that at first when I read the prompt it was going to be an easy one to argue to, but as the essay progressed I realized that I ended up going with this argument because I related to it more. I felt like I actually connected all my ideas where they had to be and they also were becoming more and more developed. One challenge that I faced was that it was a timed write so it added to the pressure of finishing quicker. Over all I ended up liking this prompt and it lead me to write what I think is a well developed essay.

I thought that the EAP writing exam was fairly easy, it was nothing new or unfamiliar. After taking the SAT where we were only given 25 minutes for the essay, it was not hard to complete one in 45 minutes, although I felt pressured during the last 10 minutes. I wish I had responded to it differently, I felt like I did it correct, but I know I could have added a lot more details and examples. Just as always, I remembered something important about the structure of the argument prompt after it was over. Overall, I am pretty satisfied with my response, although it could have been better.

I thought that the EAP writing test was overall an easy test, and I agreed with my prompt and discussed my prompt before so that helped a bit. The only difficult thing about the test was how it was timed I did not like that because I felt a bit rushed so my thoughts were a bit scattered and unorganized. I think that I should have been a bit more organized with my ideas and not just write what I thought right in the moment and think about how to use my idea. After the exam I was thinking of good points that I should have put down. But in the end it was a straight forward prompt that could be answered quite well.

The EAP test was earier than I expect it to be. The timing was not a plesant experience because it put pressure on me. I wanted to think more of what to add to my essay but it was not possible. Luckily, I finished the EAP with five paragraphs. I also reminded myself to add evidence through out my essay. In the end, i’m confident that I will pass the test but I wish we would of had more time to make my essay better.

I wish that I had approached my topic differently because I felt like I repeated myself throughout my argument. The EAP writing exam wasn’t a bad experience. I actually found it simple. It wasn’t a difficult assignment, not the easiest thing I’ve ever written but definitely not the most difficult. We had a nice amount of time. I feel like we should have gotten an extra five minutes but that’s neither here nor there. In my mind I responded well but we’ll see how I’m scored.

The EAP was easy for the most part, but I found it very time consuming to think of good concrete details to defend my position on the argument. This got me frustrated and nervous that I would not be able write as much as I wanted to, but all in all it went well. I responded to the prompt to the best of my ability, and I would not change my approach or anything about it.

I found that the EAP was simple and straight-forward but I did find it difficult at the same time. Having only 45 minutes to accomplish the task put a lot of pressure on me and just the fact that this will determine my placement in college brought even more pressure. I do think that I did my best and included my own experiences and examples that my audience can relate to. When I was done with the exam I did come up with more ideas that I could have used to support my position. Because the test was times it pressured me to do everything in a fast pace.

I thought the EAP writing exam was very simple, but with slightness of a challenge to it.With the test only being 45 minutes long and my topic being a little unclear on the speaker’s position I felt pressured to take a stand in a position. With my topic being a little hard to know the speaker’s position it was a hassle to begin the writing process. In the end I was able to finish my argument, however I had no time to revise as my ideas were not all with me today. 🙁

The EAP writing exam went smooth and was a bit easier because of the practice we got in class. I expected the prompt to be more difficult, but I am not complaining. The hardest part was deciding whether I agreed with the prompt or not. It took about ten minutes to figure out which had a better argument because I could not chose a side. This took a lot of time and pressured me to gather my thoughts faster. I do not feel my argument was as strong as I wanted it. I started blanking out and forgot my thoughts. There is not much I would change, but I would have liked to support my argument better.

I think if I had more time I could of gotten my thoughts together but I think that I did answer the prompt correctly. After the exam I was thinking if I missed something I could of added or if I could of made this sentence sound better.

The EAP exam and prompt presented was quiet a delight because of it’s simplicity. It was clear, relatable, and interesting. The excerpt that we had to read didn’t take up much of the 45 minutes we had to finish. I finished and had time to revise. I feel that I was prepared for this exam not because of the rally we had the day before the exam but for the reason that we had practiced it several times in class which served as a good practice.

I think that the EAP exam was very straight foward, but I had put in a lot of thought within my essay. Like all students, I had to really contemplate on if I agreed with the prompt, how I would set up my essay, and if I stated argument clearly. The timing really flustered me because it put me under a lot of pressure. I think that everyone can also agree with me when I say that we could’ve wrote better arguments, or that we could’ve put in more points to make our arguments more clear or stand out. Although my essay wasn’t to my satisfaction, I still think I did an okay job.

I thought the prompt of the essays were going to be more challenging, but they weren’t. They were easy to me and right away I found ideas of what I was going to write about. I think I did a pretty good job because I was really into my essay and I provided strong evidence. The timing was a little unfair because forty-five minutes isn’t enough time to write and proofread an essay. Within that time, you would have to read the prompt and go straight into your argument which would knock off some points if you don’t go back to proofread. One thing I do remember I should of done was going back to proofread a second time just to make sure.

I think that the EAP writing exam was extremely easy. The prompts were merely simple arguments. Argument prompts are by far the easiest to respond to; all that is required is for one to write about one’s opinion. I am a very fast writer, so the 45 minute time limit presented no problems. There was sufficient time left to carefully proofread twice. I am certain that I did well on this writing exam.

I think the EAP exam was easier than I expected it to be. The prompt and the detail of information given, made it uncomplicated and less difficult. The time aspect was unfair. I do not believe anyone has the right to time me on a test especially tests that include essays. It takes a minimum of sixty minutes to write and proofread and essay under the conditions we were in. I think I responded mediocre. I wish I had stronger points to back up my assertion, but I think I fulfilled the requirements of an argument essay. I found the EAP exam to be quite simple because the context of the prompt was less challenging and complex from what we have been doing in class. I felt the time aspect of it was unfair because I finished with barely enough time to check for errors; however, the lack of time could also be accounted for my inability to choose my position. Due to my indecisiveness, I didn’t feel comfortable with the position I claimed and evidence I used as support, but I obviously could not start over. Also while finishing my third paragraph I recalled how I had to include personal evidence, a well as, evidence from literature. Regardless of my worries, I still think I did well on the EAP.

Contrary to what many of the administration had to say, the EAP writing exam was much more basic than other writing prompts from the school year. While the issues were much more realistic, they seemed appropriate for testing whether students would require remedial English classes in college. As opposed to the 25 minute time limit like the SAT essay portion, the 40 minutes was more than enough to complete and revise the essay for grammatical errors and credibility. The only concern that I have is that I may have turned the argument into a more macro issue, or used examples that the audience may not be completely familiar with.

I thought that the EAP Exam was fairly easy. It was obvious what the prompt was asking me to do, therefore I did not face any difficulties while answering it. Because the EAP was timed, I was pressured to work at a certain pace. However, I noticed this motivated me to finish quickly. Once I finished, I had enough time to go back and make any corrections that I needed to. I feel confident with how I approached this exam and I believe I incorporated appropriate experiences to use as evidence for what I believed. If there was one thing I could change, it would have been to have a stronger conclusion. Overall, I am content with how I did on the EAP Writing Exam.

I thought the EAP writing exam was fairly easy. I did not realize how fast time will pass you up when you are trying to write a thoughtful response. I wish I had more evidence to back my argument. I also wish that we had spent more time on how to write an argument essay because I felt I was a bit unprepared for it and my essay came out weak due to that. There was not anything else I remembered after the test.

Your essay wasn’t weak. This was a good practice for you. This exam was the least consequential of all your upcoming timed tests. But believe me, while I am sure it wasn’t perfect, it was good enough for what you needed today. And you will get lots of practice!

The EAP writing exam was not at all what I expected. Honestly, the prompts that were given are extremely relevant, or at least I have had previous discussion about them, which was helpful. As I wrote, some of my thoughts had already been put together (from the discussions), but unfortunately, the PRESSURE of the time limit scared me and my thoughts were not as clear as usual. I do not know if would have a different approach if I could rewrite it because I cannot think of anything better or more coherent to write. The part in the directions that say “take your time” made me laugh because I could totally write this response in forty-five minuets. 🙂

I thought that the EAP writing exam was simple, yet challenging at the same time. The fact that the test was timed put pressure on me. Personally, I feel that I responded to my prompt well and I accurately incorporated my personal experiences into it. After the exam, I was considering how I could’ve worded certain sentences differently to bring my point across. Because the test was timed, I feel that my sentences weren’t connected efficiently.
