Grammar Diagnostic

Write a reflection about how you did on the diagnostic. Did you do better than you expected to do? Was it fairly easy? Were there some points where you were unsure of what to answer? When? How did you resolve the question you had? How did you do and what do you now know you need to work on?

I did decent on the diagnostic. I thought I would do better, but atleast I passed. Some parts were way easier than others. I thought the beginning part took way more thinking. Especially, with the option of “no error” made me really think. On some of the questions, I wasn’t sure if there was an error, so I just sat there staring at the sentence thinking about what the answer could be.

I made a mistake in the beginning of the test when i couldn’t scroll down the page and submit my answers. So I panicked when it said I scored very low. I redid the test very fast and got a 80%. It is an okay score that I am comfortable with having, but there were some common grammar mistakes that I made. I need more work on pronoun usage and semicolon usage.

I did worse than I thought I would but it seemed as if some of the answers I had chosen were not bubble in or counted as right because I got them wrong and the ones I had bubbled in were the correct ones. I thought that I would do better since the test was fairly easy and didn’t require using context clues as often as other tests often do.The main question when I didn’t remember what to choose was when it came to loose or lose because I get confused with both so I just tried to make an educated guess. I did okay and personally , I think I could have done better. I now know that I need to learn when it is that I have to use loose, lose, chose, and choose.

    Grammar Diagnostic

This grammar test was pretty easy to me. There were some questions that made me think, but that was about it. I actually did worse than I expected to do. There were a couple points where I was insure of what the answer was. The thing that threw me off the most was the punctuation and past/present tense verbs. The questions that were near the end were the most tough for me. I resolved my problem by reading the question and the possible answers out loud I ended up getting most of the questions I struggled with correct. All in all, I got a 53/65 which was a low B. Now, I need to work on past/present tense and punctuation and I will be good!

On my diagnostic test i did very poorly, I am not at the least surprised at this. I do very bad on online test, and sometimes my grammar is not the best. The test was not that easy for me. I really bombed in the punctuation section of the test. I also got very distracted on that part, witch in turn made me miss most of them, because i guessed on them. I know that I need to work on punctuation and when to use a semicolon. Other than that I need to work on my grammar as a whole.

I actually did worse then i thought I would when doing the diagnostic. The test was kinda difficult and really small errors that can be easily looked over. I could of done way better if the test was written into a paper and had a larger font but then again I could have just zoomed in. For a odd reason I got a 0 in the capitalization section even though I am really good at it.

I think I did worse than what I expected. Some of the questions were confusing because both of them seemed right. The punctuations were the questions that I didn’t know, especially the semi-colons. To answer the questions, I kept reading it over until I thought I had an answer. The problem was that I kept second guessing myself and it sometimes made me change my answer. Overall I got a C on the test. Most of the questions were easy except for the punctuations.

The diagnostic was a bit harder than expected. I got 53/65, or about 81-82%. It seemed easy enough at first, but the questions seemed more tedious as the test got longer. Some of the sentences even looked the same after a while, and I had to read through them a few times to find the indescrepencies between the two. Eventually, I began looking for the point where one sentence became longer than the other, which would be where a mistake might lie.
I suppose I need to remember spelling, because that was a factor and it has always been a problem.

On the diagnostic test I realized how much I did not truly understand English. I did do worse than I expected, but I didn’t do so horribly that I should feel ashamed. In my defense, English is the hardest language to learn. I believed that the test as fairly easy, but I guess I was proven wrong. There were a couple of punctuation problems that I wasn’t sure about, but I did my best and guessed at what I thought could be the correct answer. overall, I think studying is in the near future for me.

In my opinion, the grammar diagnostic was easy, although there were some questions where I was unsure of what to answer. I ended up getting a score of 55/65 and I think that that’s a pretty good grade. However, I was still expecting to get a higher grade. Now that I have taken this test and seen the questions that I got wrong, I know what I need to review and go over so that next time, I’ll be able to get the highest score possible.

I believe i did well. I may have not scored as high as i wanted to, but the 80% i got is comforting and okay with me. On some of the questions i could have reread to get a better understanding of the content. Also, i could have checked my answers. Maybe the fact that it was 65 questions could have psyched me out, but i had enough time to finish it and even review what i chose to be correct. Overall, i made some careless simple mistakes that could have been changed. I plan on working on that and going over what i got wrong.

The diagnostic test was kind of long so it was hard to concentrate on the questions. I thought the first part of the test was hard with the different types of grammar. I think finding the grammar is probably the hardest thing for me in English. The middle section was pretty easy, there were just a few questions that tripped me up but other than that, the section was okay. The third section was a little tricky also, because I had to find the right sentences, with the correct punctuation. Other than the those two things, the test wasn’t that bad, it wasn’t the easiest test I have taken, but it also wasn’t the hardest one I have taken.

The diagnostic that we all just took, i would say, was some what easy, but some questions were a bit more difficult. I received 49 out of 65, basically a “C”. I was kind of hoping to get a better grade but now i know that i need to work on; improving my writing and grammar, we’ll see how it goes next time.

I think I did okay on the diagnostic test because the score I got was about the same as what I expected. There were a couple questions that I was unsure of, but overall it was fairly easy. For the questions that I was unsure of, I eliminated the answers which I knew were definitely wrong. Then, took an educated guess off of what I knew about grammar, etc. Overall, I did good, but there is definitely room to improve. I think that I mainly need to work on when sentences should be separated but semi-colons, commas, etc. and just general grammar.

On the Diagnostic test, I received a score of 50 out of 65, which I believe is a C+. For the test I was not expecting to get a high grade, I actually believed I was going to score much poorly because I hate tests like these, but I am content with the grade I received for I only missed 15 questions. I believe what was most challenging for me was choosing what was wrong with the sentences. Also some words were unknown to my knowledge, thus making it a bit challenging for me but overall, I believe I received a legit score. 🙂 I do believe though that I could have done much better than what I actually did, I should have at least received a B+ but I guess I am not at that level yet.

I feel as if I could have done way better on this pre-test. I ended up getting a C, scoring at 78.46%. I looked over the test and realized I made simple common mistakes. I believe if I read through the questions better and took my time, I could have gotten a higher score. I know English is one of the subjects I usually accelerate in, but I know I often make mistakes that mess up my scoring.

while doing the diagnostic i felt confident, i felt i was ding very well, there were alot of trick questions i believe and that is what threw me off, such as when i thought the correct way was my sisters and i , when nothing was wrong with the sentence and the correct way was my sisters and me. that was one i really thought i got right but ended up getting wrong. iam not happy with my score at all because i know i can do better, and i know i know alot about grammer, english is my strongest subject and ive always done well in it. but i guess this test proves dont over think it, and go with your first gut feeling, dont second guess yourself.

I was disappointed in how I did on the diagnostic. Instead of doing better than I expected, I did worse. I don’t believe I passed my own standards. When there was a question in which the answer wasn’t obvious, instead of thinking it through, I just picked an answer that I thought could have a chance of being correct. I should have took my time and put more thought into the questions I had, rather than rushing to finish. Overall I had a 76% and I need to work on analyzing and taking my time on the questions.

I did not expect to get the score that I got. I was sure that I was going to get a high score, but apparently not. I need improvement on my punctuation and other grammar skills. I thought that the quiz was fairly easy at first, although there were some questions that I was unsure about, I tried to give it my best guess and continue on. I should have skipped the ones that I didn’t know and came back to them later, but since on some of them there were only two answers, I figured just pick one. I tried saying the questions to myself the way that I would normally say them, and that seemed to help me in some instances. Other than that, I need to work on my sentences.

My results were not what I expected after taking this diagnostics test. It did show me that I have much to work on when it comes to grammar. There was a lot of questions. By the time I got to the end of the test, I started to get lazy and guess on my answers. The test was not complicated but I did have my moments where I had to read the questions or statements out loud. What I can do better next time is to not rush my way through the test and not get as distracted.

While taking the diagnostic test, I felt pretty confident about my grammatical skills. I think I did a pretty good job on the diagnostic but I believe that I could’ve done better. It was pretty lengthy so I grew impatient and wasn’t very cautious when choosing my answers. I think if I took my time I would have gotten a better result. When I was unsure of what to unsure, I would reread the given statements and determine if it portrayed sound grammatical structure. I noticed that I need to work on distinguishing the difference between its and it’s. Overall, the test was fairly easy.

On the grammar diagnostic test, I received a score of 59 out of 65, a 90.77%. I believe that this low A is the result of not taking my time. Upon reviewing my mistakes, I realized that had I made very silly errors. If I had double checked my work, I am confident that I would have gotten all of them, or at least more of them, right. I was taught in elementary school not to second guess myself, but, being a very fast reader, sometimes my mind automatically corrects punctuation and the like. Taking this diagnostic test has been helpful in reinforcing the idea that reviewing my answers would be beneficial.

The test seems to have been designed for the purpose of tricking the student into getting the wrong answer, much like upper-class tests. However, it served its purpose as a diagnostic that locates the common errors of the student, and it has revealed to me the necessity of properly learning the principles that had mistakes made, as I strive for nothing short of perfection. By the time that the next diagnostic test is taken, there shall be nothing short of a perfect score.

On the diagnostic test, I scored a low C. I was neither shocked nor surprised. I expected to get the grade I got. It was not extremely hard, but it was not easy for me. There were many times in which I got stuck between the different answers and struggled over some of the words. When it came time to pick the correct sentence with the right punctuation and reasoning, it got more challenging. I honestly thought I was going to do bad just because the diagnostic was really long. I actually done better than i expected to do and some questions were easy and there were some that were really confusing. I need to work more because the next time I do take this test I want to come in with more confidence and actually know what I’m doing instead of guessing on some of the questions. The first part had most of the points that I didn’t really understand and I read them more and more and made an educated guess on the question. There were too many questions. It was also difficult to concentrate on my question while hearing everyone read the next or previous question out loud. The test itself was not hard at all. The tricky part was over thinking and second guessing myself on which was the correct answer. I had to read the questions to myself in order to help me select the best answer. Well overall I think I need to work in a lot of things and seeing the results i was not happy about them. I mostly need to work on the conjunctions because I do not recollect being taught how to use a semicolon in school. Another thing that I need to be paying more attention to are the places where the apostophes go, because there can be some moments where it looks like it can fit in one way but it an actually fit in many ways. Overall before this pre-quiz I felt like I was good with all the spelling and grammar but after this i see that many time one thinks that they know all but who knows even the simplest errors can make them see a lot of big mistakes. If I could re take this quiz I would pay more attention and take my time actually read slowly and not rush to try to finish.

Doing the diagnostic was in my opinion difficult because I am not the best in grammar. Seeing my results I did better than what I expected to get because grammar is not one of my strengths. I expected to get a low score like almost all of them wrong but seeing my score I feel I did pretty good. Even though I did better than what I expected their is still room for improvement. In my opinion it was not that easy I found it somewhat difficult especially when it came to checking the sentences. When I was having a hard time I just thought about it and re read everything again to try to make the best answer. I got a 60 percent but I think I need to improve on the punctuation because that is were I had more difficulty.

On my diagnostic test, I tested proficiently throughout the whole test. Getting a 81.54%, missing only 12. I tested fairly average on the diagnosis. I believe that the test was slightly challenging but a task that was easy to complete. The section that I scored the highest in was the section about correct wording and punctuation. I just started improving on my wording and punctuation because I wasn’t always the smartest in that area. My worst section on the diagnosis test was the first section about grammar. I thought I was pretty good at using correct grammar but I was obviously was wrong because I missed seven questions. Closing, the diagnosis test wasn’t hard or difficult it was just very challenging, it makes your mind work.

When I saw my score I got a lower score than I thought I was going to get. It seemed a little bit easy at first, but then I started asking my self if I was doing it correctly or not. So that was when I started questioning my self. I was not sure on what to answer on multiple questions, mostly part one because they all seemed correct to me, but they were not all correct in the end. I resolved the question by just going and reading the question all over again. In the end I did horrible and I should really get to work on the conjunctions and my next step would be to get my commas and semicolons figured out. That is my goal for the next test.

I remember learning about them but for some reason I always seem to forget. Anyways I believe that my biggest problem is vocabulary and spelling. There are a lot of words that I have never even seen before. My vocabulary is not as advanced as it probably should be. And I have always sucked at spelling, it has never been my thing. I believe that it’s safe to say that I struggled the most in the first section which was sentence correction. I need to work on being able to recognize when and how people are using improper grammar. I second guessed myself on some questions, but am now realizing I should’ve chose my first answer. I was unsure when it came to using a semicolon, other than that I thought I would’ve gotten most of them right. When it came to a questions I was unsure about I took an educated guess by using context clues and prior knowledge. I need to work on how to determine whether or not something in a sentence is incorrect. I can choose the right sentence, but not what’s wrong with a sentence.

I found the diagnostic test fairly easy with only slight trouble. I actually did worse than I expected, due to my impatience. Towards the end I stopped fully reading the sentences and just assumed the correct answer. Multiple grammar and punctuation problems confused me, especially ones regarding semicolons. Yes, in many parts I was unsure of what to answer because most of the questions were really tricky. For example n some of the punctuation sentences I was confused on whether the punctuation was wrong or if the word was misspelled. i fixed my problem by reviewing really carefully the sentence. I did a lot better than expected during the diagnostic. The test was rather difficult to me because I had to a hard time understanding the format of the test until I got further into the test. I feel that I could’ve done better had I taken more time on this test than feeling as though I had to rush through the test. During most of the test, I re-read the sentences and checked with my answer. Some questions had almost identical sentences except for the punctuation. The punctuation was near impossible to see and finding the answer was even harder to find.

I feel I did well. My percentage was 75.38%. Although I feel I did well, I have room for improvement. This test increased my thinking skills and made me realize that I do not know it all.

I think that I did well on the diagnostic test. I did not score as high as I expected, but it wasn’t very disappointing. I thought the test was fairly easy. I only missed nine questions, and when I went back thought my answers it was evident why my answers were wrong. There weren’t any questions I legitimately didn’t understand, I just made some dumb mistakes. It looks like I have to work on pronoun use, word use, and spelling, as those were the three categories in which I received the lowest score.

While doing the diagnostic, I felt like I was doing well, but I did worse than expected. I was unsure about the sentences that you have to find whats if the sentence is correct or incorrect and to find the error in the sentence. I resolved it by saying it in a whisper and reading it over to see if it sounds correct. I have a F on each of the parts, so i need to work on finding errors, sentence punctuation, and wording.
