The father’s argument was that his son was in a slow class instead of a normal class. He makes this argument because his son wasn’t what the teacher thought. He was much smarter. The parts I agree with is when he said that his son is not culturally “disadvantaged,” but he is culturally “different.” I disagree with when they kept him in the slow class. You can apply this to Tennyson by seeing how many different cultures there are and seeing what classes they’re in. Yes, students come froem different cultures .

I feel like the farther wants heim to be treated like the rest of the students.
I agree with the fact that he needs to be treated fair like the rest 9of the students.

Q1) The father argument is about race. what he is arguing about is that he has a son and his son is indian, and his son is joining school but the problem is he feels uncomfortable being the only Indian at school, and all the other student are different race and he is the only one that came from a different culture.

Q2) I believe that this father has to make this important argument because its for the need of his own child, so he can feel secure with his other classmates being able to proceed in school.

Q3) I agree with all parts from the father because all arguments and reasons from him is to letting other people know that NO ONE should be put down from what race and culture they are or come from.I dont disagree with no argument that his father had to made.

Q4) How i would apply to this to our school is to know that everyone should be welcome to any school not only to Tennyson High of how they are or where they come from. All students come from diiferent cultures we are not perfect nor’ same we are all different but in a special way. I also do think all teachers around the world should know this and represent that we are all different but are not meant to be judged by who we are!

The fathers argument is that his son isn’t a slow learner and that he has more knowledge than his own teacher, he makes this argument because his teacher Argued that his son was a slow learner because of his ethnicity, I kimde of disagree with the fact that he said his son knows more than his teacher I mean it could happen it’s possible but chances are a 5 year old docent know more than there teacher, I agree with the fact that his son isn’t a slow learner he’s just trying to ajust to another country, yea there are a bunch of ethnicitys all over Tennyson and of corse it is hard for them to adjust not all but some, and teachers (some not all) tend to rather put them in another class rather than trying to make it easy for them to adjust to the school and a different way of learning

The father’s argument was that his son, Wind Wolf was not an empty glass she needed to fill in or that he was a slow learner. His argument points out how smart Wind Wolf is in the Native American culture and how hard it is for a five year old to assimilate to western culture. Its even harder when the white children make fun of his different feautres which eventually leads to Wind-Wolf to be ashamed of his beautiful and rich culture. The father is making this argument so the teacher will try and understand how to approach and teach Wind-Wolf. I love the way how this father gave his argument and I dont disagree with anything he said. Yes, students do come from different cultures but in my opinion it doesnt matter what culture your from, students should assume responsibilty for whatever the situation is. Yesterday we had an argument about coming late, im mexican and i go to all my classes on time. Why? because I dont like being late being on time is always better. Thus you have a more responsible image. In away it doesnt matter if teachers try to understand our culture because our culture has very little to do with the way we learn. Your either responsible and smart or irresponsible and careless.

In the story “An Indian Father’s Flea” the father’s argument was that his son was as smart as the city/white kids, that Wind Wolf wasnt a “empy glass”. The father makes this argument because he sees how his five year old kid is descriminized in school because he was an indian and had a different way of learnig than the white/city kids. I agree with the father’s argument in the way that no kid is a “slow learner” every kid has a perfect mind, and what makes them different is their cultere because culture makes your personality. Here in Tennyson High School we have many types of races wich means that we have many cultures and teachers should understand that we all have a different way of learning and behaving.

1)The fathers argument was the teacher in a public white school, put the Native American son as “slow leaner”

2)Hes making this argument because his son is shy and doesnt want to talk but he knows alot

3)I agree with everything he says, especially when he talks about when he is no diffrent than anybody else and he talks about that people are racists to his kid and white people dont let their children play with his kid

4)There might be students getting discrimated by teachers in school by race, sex, religion, or stereotyped. Teachers should just mind their own buissness and just come here and do what they come to do and what their getting paid for, which is just to teach!!!!

The father’s argument was that his son, Wind Wolf, was not a slow learner as the school said. I think the father makes this argument because, he lives knows his son is smart, they count at home. I agree that it will take Wind Wolf a little extra time to adjust the their different style of things. I believe it could apply to a student that is from a different learning backround, coming here and taking longer than normal to learn a certain subject. of course there are plenty of students come from different cultures. And it is important for teachers to recognize that, because theres certain things the student could be used to, or struggling with, that understanding where they come from would help her explain or teach better.

The father’s argument was that his son is not a slow learner and that, that’s just the way his culture learns things. I think he makes this argument because the school labeled him as a slow learner. I do agree that some people do learn slower then others but that’s so they could understand it better. There are different cultures at Tennyson High, where everybody comes from different backgrounds. I believe that this could appy because everybody has a different way of learning whether they learn fast pace, slow pace or normal. I would have different levels of learning and classes to help them out.

The father is arguing that his child shouldn’t be considered slow just because he is Indian. He makes this argument because he believes his son is a full glass and now not empty meaning he has something to offer to the class, like culture. I agree with everything he says, because it makes sense. I would apply the father’s argument to Tennyson High School because of how diverse our school is and the many different cultures. Students definitely come from different cultures and it is very important for teachers to recognize this because they won’t accidently discriminate against their culture and it will make the kids pround of their culture.

    1. The father’s argument is that his son is not a slow learner. His son is just this way because that’s how he was raised in his culture.

    2. He makes this argument because the school labeled his son as a “slow learner”

    3. I agree with everything in his argument. It was only kinder garden and it takes time to speed up your learning. Also I think that culture is something sacred, specially since he grew up like that. I think a person’s culture is shouldn’t affect how people react to actions that you do.

    4. Yes! Here at THS, there are very different kinds of cultures. I think that’s something that teachers should recognize because it can make the students more comfortable with the school and their culture.

    1) That the school named his son as a slow learn.

    2) The father know his son more then the school does, becuase in his culture kids that are quite are really smart.

    3) I agree with his argument because a school can not just say that his son is a slow learner just becuase he is a quite kid.

    4) There are students from different culture at Tennyson High, that dont belive the samething that the father does in the story, because of the beliefs.

The father’s argument is that his child is labled by his teacher to be a slow learner.
The father argued that his son is not behind his class. The father also argues that his son has had earlier practice with problem solving and mathematics. I agree that the child should get some help and I disagree how they treat him as a slow learner. it is important to recognize that students come from different cultures so , they could understand habits that students have .

    1. The father’s argument is that his son, Wind-Wolf is not slow.

    2. He makes this argument because it is important to prove to the school that he knows his son better than the teacher.

    3. I agree with the statement, “Please let him share his knowledge, heritage, and culture with you and his peers.” He should be able to share his culture with others.

    4. Yes, there are many students at Tennyson High School who come from different cultures. I think that teachers should recognize this because several students are used to different customs from where they came from.

The father believes that Indian children should be able to celebrate their culture in school without hate from other children. His child is getting hated on and humiliated in school. I agree with everything the father believed in, that we should have the freedom to live in what culture we want without hate. Tennyson students come from different cultures which is fine, but racism still occurs sometimes. Teachers should recognize this to better understand the students.

    What is the father’s argument?
The fathers argument is that he wants his son to have a good education without being judged about where or how he was raised.
Why do you think he makes this argument?
Because they said that Windwolf is a slow learner because he was taught things a different way.
What parts of his argument do you agree with? Which parts do you disagree with?
I agree with the face Windwolf should be able to adapt to there way of learning before he is judged so soon. Also I disagree with the teacher referring to Windwolf as a slow learner.
How would you apply the father’s argument to Tennyson High School? Do students come from different cultures? Is it important for teachers to recognize this?
The fathers argument is a little like tennyson because alot of people refer to tennnyson as slow learners because of our test scores. Here students do come from different cultures but they also have time to adapt and be like evryone else. I think its important for teachers to recongnize this because alot of students do come from different cultures and are bullied from acting in there heritage alot of them just dont show it.
