Befor reading the article i thought it was wrong and in a way discriminating. After reading the article it seemed even more wrong. It seemed wrong because people were put in different work stations because of how they look

I feel different about working at a job that needs a certain look. It makes me wonder wether that the companies boss is racist or he’s just not the certain look he wants to be.

Before I read the article I thought that the employes had the right to hire who they want. And I still think that. Because if they want to sellthe things they want they have to make people want to buy it. Some guys go for the sexy look. So it makes them want to buy Certin things that like. Have you seen the hollister or aeropostale models? They look sexy and cute right? Well I think the manerger has they right to ask certin people if they want the job. Its their riught and my opinion.

I feel differently now about hiring people because not every person fits the requirements that the company asks for. The way i feel about hiring people who fit the companys look might be illegal but its also an advertisement so that people could buy their products.

I feel different because the way it really should be is that poeple dont get jugded or dicriminated.Discriminating people and judging people is wrong. Just because people don’t have the look, does not mean that they do not fit the company’s image. In my opinion, everyone has the right to do anything.

i think its wrong to not hire an “ugly” person because iis discriminating to them that they would have to work in the back of the store while the “pretty” people get to work in the front.even though its not illegal its still wrong and mean to do.

Before I read this I felt that companies had no reason to hire people for a look. But after reading that article I feel differently. I feel that companies can sell however they like. Although, they should not just base it on the look and that’s all. I think the should base it on skill and maybe look after that.

Before I read this article ,I used to think that companies hire people with skills not based on their image .After reading this article I knew that some companies only go for the looks not skills.Companies think that people with the image bring in more customers.
Obviously the company is theirs and they will want what they are looking but I think its wrong to judge people and act towards it ,for example only white people were hired to work on the sales floor and Asian ,Hispanic and Black people were sent to work in the stock room . Discriminating races is bad.Its rude but companies don’t care about that ,they only care about their business.

Before I read the article, I didnt really care about the whole system based on looks involved with hiring people. But seing that i wasnt to be an actor, I fully understand that looks are pretty mucheverything, but you will also need talent and skill. Not everyone fits these expectations, and those that do still may have problems in the longrun of life… For example; as they get older, their looks will dissapate…Eventually, they too will be an average joe… a stick in the mud… A pickle in a jar…

Before I read the article I used to think managers of stores would hire on expertise and not looks. After reading the passage I still think companies should hire based on skill and expertise and not looks. I mean it is a possibility that looks may bring in more consumers and your company will make good profit but it’s discriminating to those who don’t get the job because they aren’t good-looking. I mean I wouldn’t like to get judged just by how I look instead of how I can get the job done.

People being hired based on their look is wrong but if it is someones store they are allowed to hire who they want. However, only hireing someone based on thier look is wrong I feel that everyone deserves a chance at the job position thats available. What if a person applies for a job has the image you want but doesn’t have the skills your job needs. There is people out there who dont hav the exact look but have the skills. Is it fair to those people? To me most people apply for a job they think they fit for. But over all no one should be turned away beacuse of their image.

Before I read the article “Going For The Look” I didnt take much importance of this issue. I would notice that different type of people with differnt styles worked at different stores but I never really tok an importance to paying attention to it. After reading the article I realized that this is a world wide issue. That it is wrong to hire people who only fit the “image” that you want. People should be hired on their working skills rather than their looks. I feel this is wrong to do, but its something that is always going to be around. Marketers dont care about peoples feelings, all they really is care is about how much merchandise they are going to sell. Money makes the world go round and all marketers care, is getting their hands on it.

Before I read this artle, I thought that companies have the right to do whatever they want and run their company as they wished. However, now I do feel differently about the situation. I feel that such companies shouldn’t base who they hire on the appearance of the person looking for a job. Before I read the article… I wasn’t awaqre of how buisnesses like Abercrombie & Fitch would advertise their brand with using good looking people to project that image. Now that I think of it, it is totally wrong to do so because people should haave equal oppurtunities and be hired equally based on skills, not on appearance. I can’t say that it doesn’t work because honestly when I see good looking employees, it makes me want to enter the store and wear what they wear. It does work but it is still morally wrong.
